You have various chances to study non-degree programs at Yonsei University.

Exchange/Visiting Student Programs (Office of International Affairs)

Office of International Affairs (OIA) administers a wide range of semester and academic year-long study abroad opportunities to foster global competence of Yonsei students and their personal growth as global citizens.

Available programs :

Semester/year-long exchanges, semester-long visiting student programs, summer term programs, and global internships ranging from six weeks to one year awarding academic credit. The Regional Cooperation Center (Study Abroad) of OIA facilitates the outgoing exchange process and works closely with our international partner universities to develop new academic opportunities and provide extensive planning assistance for students including pre-departure orientation sessions.

Exchange Student Program (ESP) allows students to study one or two semesters at universities abroad that have signed an agreement with Yonsei University. Credits earned during the exchange period will be transferred to your academic account at Yonsei. Application periods are about a year before departure.

Students pay the tuition to Yonsei University only.

Visiting Student Program (VSP) is just like the ESP except that students pay tuition fees to both the home university and the host university. To offer financial aid, Yonsei provides the VSP Scholarship which covers 80% of Yonsei tuition to all VSP participants.

[Global Internship] (OIA Website →)

Global Internship Program (GIP) was developed to provide students with the international business environment experience and skills to help them to be better equipped for career planning and to nurture global citizens through enhancement in language proficiency and opportunities for diverse cultural experiences. Students will participate in this program while enrolled at Yonsei University and will receive academic credits.

Yonsei International Summer School (YISS)

The Yonsei International Summer School (YISS) opened its doors in 1985 and since then, YISS has become an integral part of campus life based on a unique blend of Korean and global cultures. YISS continues to grow and evolve, accommodating the needs of a rapidly changing student body and meeting the challenges of a fast-paced global society.

Winter Abroad at Yonsei (WAY)

Yonsei University offers a 5-week winter program at our Sinchon campus for international students who would like to enjoy the winter in Seoul.

Winter Abroad at Yonsei is composed of two separate sessions: Session 1 is a 3-week program focusing on academic achievement with various courses and Session 2 is a 2-week program with an intensive Korean language course along with distinguished cultural and historical lectures related to Korean society.

LearnUS

LearnUS is an online learning platform at Yonsei University, and it stands for ‘Learning Ubiquitous Square’. LearnUS offers four categories of online educational contents, which are ‘Professional Programs’, ‘Open Programs’, ‘International Programs’, and ‘Degree Programs’.

Korean Language Institute (KLI)

The Korean Language Institute is designed to give students the chance to learn the Korean language and culture while enhancing their understanding about Korea.

Yonsei University has been working towards this goal since its foundation in 1959 and has become one of the most important and useful institutes in the field. All of the teachers at the Korean Language Institute hold a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Korean and possess a range of knowledge about Korean culture and teaching foreign students. Due to their background, each of the teachers is especially equipped to help students learn in an efficient and engaging environment.

Yonsei MOOC (Massive Open Online Course)

MOOC is an open course that anyone can study in an online environment without limiting the number of participants(Massive). Global MOOC platforms include Coursera, edX, FutureLearn, and Udacity. Yonsei University was the first Korean university to join Coursera and FutureLearn, the world's largest global MOOC platforms, in 2014, and was selected as a pilot project for the Korean online open lecture (K-MOOC) in 2015.

Residential College Education Center

"Resident College" is a prestigious education model that maximizes learning effectiveness by providing creative community education that integrates learning and life, and fosters global leaders through a healthy community culture.

Freshmen of Yonsei University reside at the Songdo dormitory for a year where they study not only the regular curriculum but also prepare to be global leaders through various RC programs. In order to maximize the effectiveness of the Residential College education, Yonsei University is operating the system of individual assistance and the non-academic curriculum that can create synergistic effects along with the solid academic curriculum.
